Link Web Services was recently appointed through Niche Strategies to redevelop the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations’ Employment Services Toolboxes website. The toolboxes serve as an important tool for the Department’s service providers to assist disadvantaged job seekers find employment.

Consulting Approach

Link consulted with the DEWR IT staff to determine an approach to implementing the site within their existing technical infrastructure. This resulted in Link providing a technical solution which accommodated the requirements of the technical team and the communications team.

Development Solution

---

The toolbox website is content heavy and was being completely rewritten by Niche’s project team. Link provided Niche with a CMS to populate the entire website – a tool that proved highly useful for the authoring team in terms of workflow and approval efficiency. While Niche Strategies utilised their internal graphic design team to produce the website’s design, Link guided this process along the way to ensure the design met the accessibility requirements as well as intended implementation at a later point with the department’s existing CMS.

A well developed content management solution and project plan ensured that this rather large project was successfully achieved in just under two months. The Toolboxes website was installed smoothly on the live DEWR servers with no issues reported. The new Toolboxes website provide DEWR service providers with a fresh new approach to accessing the content they require to better service their clients.
