Project Overview

Since 2002, Link Web Services has worked with the Australasian Railway Association (ARA) to provide design and technical services. The ARA website has undergone two significant redevelopments in this time, most recently in December 2005. Along with these redevelopment projects, Link has developed a member’s information portal, email distribution system, two separate subsites, and will soon finalise an intranet project that synchronises the ARA’s exchange server with their web based email distribution system via XML content feeds.

Link has undertaken a series of consultations with ARA staff to obtain an in-depth understanding of their membership services and business systems. Over the years, Link has remained up to date with the various requirements off the ARA, ensuring that we are ready to provide informed advice and assistance regarding their online communication needs.

Development Solution

The ARA website has evolved over the years to become an entirely content managed website solution. From within the administration area ARA staff can maintain site content, distribute publications online, administer member details and keep members informed of upcoming events. Members also have access to a password protected area of the public site where they can manage their own membership details and view a history of communication releases that are specific to their company.
